The mission of the Health Department is to preserve, protect and promote the health and welfare of the
citizens of Grundy County. In order to achieve this purpose we offer various programs and services specifically
designed to meet the needs of our community.

AFTER HOURS EMERGENCIES Call: 815-942-0336 which is the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department.
The Sheriff’s Department will notify the Health Department Administrator.

Grundy County residents are encouraged to sign up for health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace.

One of Grundy County Health Departments very own Public Health Nurse has received the
African American History Month Public Health Champion Award.
A new Grundy County Health Department, Environmental Health Division fee schedule was
adopted at the September 9, 2014 Grundy County Board Meeting.
Several fees were increased for the Well,
Septic and Food Programs.

The GROWS (Grundy Resource of Opportunity for Wellness and Sustainability) Garden committee is ready to kick off
the garden’s second year.
In continuing to address the IPLAN (Illinois Project for Local Assessment of Needs) of
the community, the Grundy County Health Department along with our community partners encourage residents to
participate in making this year a success by volunteering services, or donations.
Monetary or material
donations from local organizations and residents provide tools and other resources needed to maintain the
initial garden and begin expanding throughout Grundy County.
Committee meetings are scheduled monthly from April through October and welcome anyone who would like to
