Our goal is to improve the mental and emotional well being of county residents diagnosed with serious
mental illness and substance abuse disorders. Service goals focus on maintaining a stable life on an outpatient
basis, improve daily functioning, and enhance individual satisfaction in order to contribute socially and
economically to the community.
The following counseling and psychiatric services are available:

Mental health treatment for children from age 7. Priority given to children with
serious emotional disturbances.

Mental health and/or substance abuse treatment for adolescents and adults. Priority given to people with chronic mental illness, meeting target population guidelines, and to pregnant, injecting drug users, pregnant and postpartum women, injecting drug abusers who are at high risk for HIV infection
and known HIF infected persons, referrals from DCFS, TANF, Department of Corrections,
and TASC.
- Clients aged 60 years and older or caregivers including
grandparents raising grandchildren are provided with counseling at no charge.
- Medication monitoring and administration
- Linkage to medical, medication, and other essential needs.
- Court-ordered mental health and substance abuse evaluations

Services are:

Offered to unfunded, indigent individuals without regard to age, gender, social supports,
cultural orientation, psychological characteristics, sexual orientation, physical situation,
spiritual beliefs, criminal record, co-existing disabilities or marital status.

Provided through strength-based, recovery-oriented, client centered and driven therapeutic interventions:
individual, group and family sessions, art, play, grief, cognitive behavioral, coping skills,
anger management, crisis intervention.
